What is your purpose?

From the book The Proverbs of Leadership by Stevenson Willis,

  A purpose has been granted unto all who walk the earth, but only those who seize the opportunities which conceal it will discover the road which leads to its fulfillment

Yesterday has departed: tomorrow is not promised;  all that remains is what you do with now.

If you are serious about starting a new business, or pursuing a goal or a dream, think for a moment how committed you are to making your business work or to making that dream a reality.  Because, in any endeavor, I believe that it is the level of your commitment and your desire to succeed that will determine the ultimate success or the failure of your ambitions.  Orrin Woodward and the Team have created an environment in which the pursuit of a worthwhile goal or dream is supported, encouraged, and celebrated.  Through the Team system and Orrin’s example, I know that any cause that is just shall prevail with commitment and determination.

Orrin Woodward and the Team lead by example.  Orrin is a man who knows what is right and is not afraid to ‘walk the walk’ and create an opportunity for others who wish to step out on faith in pursuit of better… better for themselves and their families… which Orrin has made possible through the Team’s business model and system.  Thank you Orrin for being the example so few are willing to be.

Through the Team and Orrin Woodward, I’ve learned that when you decide to leave average and step out in pursuit of better, expect critics and skeptics to attack out of fear of their own complacency.  It’s sad but true.  Most people want you to get by… just not by them!  Matthew Henry commented,  “None so blind as those that will not see.  None so deaf as those who will not hear.”  The Team and Orrin have had their share of critics and skeptics but the results cannot be denied.  Critics and skeptics are blind and deaf to what is right, what is real, and what is possible.  Stay true to your purpose, do your very best,  and do not let others distract from what you know to be right.

Ditka must have read John Wooden’s definition of success:   "Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming."

 

John Wooden coined his own definition of success. By the standards of the Basketball Hall of Fame, his own success is unique. He is the only person in history to be enshrined there twice, once as a player for Purdue University, and again for his performance as coach of the UCLA Bruins.   Orrin Woodward has adopted a similar definition of success and through the Team, has developed and provided the vehicle capable of equipping literally anyone who chooses to achieve the peace of mind in knowing you are becoming the best you can while pursuing a worthwhile goal or dream.  Thanks Ditka.  Thanks Coach Wooden.  And thanks Orrin, for showing us that greatness lies within each and every one of us.

It begins with accepting responsibility for not only where I’m at right now, but more importantly, where I’m going to be.  All successful people understand that it begins with self.  We must become a Self Starter:  That’s the Great Separator.

 

Ben Franklin said, “To Succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions.”

In the world of sports today, they are saying that the Patriots are building a legacy in this decade.  Just as the Cowboys did in the 90's and the Packers in the 60's etc.

In the world of business Orrin Woodward is building a business that will be mentioned with Ray Kroc of McDonald's and Sam Walton of Wal-Mart.  He is helping other's achieve success and taking over the e-commerce industry and building a legacy that will go down in history.  Orrin builds his business on a foundation of integrity and trust bound by his character.  Business with a solid foundation that can last for decades or even centurys.

Isn’t that really the definition of success in any endeavor?  

What do you want…  what is the price…  pay it!  Success, victory, or achievement, however you define it, fundamentally comes down to what is that thing-ideal-dream you want, what does it take to obtain or realize it, and are you willing to do what it takes?  Orrin Woodward  and the Team have learned, implemented, mastered, and taught that very principle indeed. 

Define – Learn – DO!  You just have to be willing to start.

 

Orrin says, "Successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people will not."  Thanks Orrin for giving us a business system that anyone can apply and succeed at, if you are willing to do the work that others are not.

Orrin Woodward truly believes in people.  He never pre-judges on what anyone can accomplish as long as thier character and integrity are sound.  Orrin always says you must build on a solid foundation with integrity and character as your base.  If a person does not have that, they may succeed for a limited time, but it will not last.  Orrin Woodward has always had the character and integrity and leads by example.  He will believe in people until they prove him wrong.  He always encourages people to do what is right.

Q.       Do I have to believe in what I am doing in order to be successful at it?

 

A.       The power of belief is the stuff of legend.  Ditka believes it.  When we believe in a vision, we have the energy to keep pursuing it.  We do what it takes to help bring the vision to life.  As Orrin Woodward and the Team have shown, the bottom line is - you have to think it before you can achieve it.  Prosperity is a state of mind.  Change your beliefs and you'll change your life.  It is because of your belief system that you are where you are in life right now. You have created your success or failure with the beliefs that you have established within yourself.  But either way, only you can answer the real question: Do you need belief to feel successful?  And if the answer is "yes," what are you waiting for?
