“Before you can win, you have to believe you are worthy.”

 

It appears there is more to Ditka than football and steaks.  Orrin Woodward and theTeam have taught me that if you are willing to work so hard for a thing, an ideal, a dream…  you will know you are worthy of it by achieving its realization.  We demonstrate our worthiness of success by the discipline and determination with which we pursue it.  Live hard, live well, live right and your worth will be what you say it is.

 

One of the traits I admire about Orrin Woodward is he always encourages people to grow and stretch to be their personal best.  Orrin always accepts people where they are, but encourages them to get better.  He never criticizes, condemns or complains, but is always accepting, approving and appreciates people.

We just had our major winter convention and Orrin Woodward simplified our business, as only Orrin can do.  He talked about 10 guys in a boat who lost hope because they never could see land.  Then how a leader gives the vision to the men in the boat, that land is just 4 miles away in that direction, even thought they can't see it yet.  How they would row again as long as they had hope, they would reach land. 

Then our business is like pushing trains up a hill, and the leaders are out pushing the trains and getting people to ride the train until they are ready to come push and make the train move faster.  Then they can learn to lead eventually and take over pushing the trains, and teach others to do the same.

Orrin has showed by example how to push the trains and to give the vision of the men in the boat.  He simplifys this business so that anyone with ambition, integrity, and willing to learn, can succeed in this and in life.  They can truly change their lives for the better!  Thanks Orrin for showing just how simple it is, if we are thinking the correct way.

 

“You are never a loser until you quit trying.”

 

Ditka is direct.  Orrin Woodward and the TEAM have created such an effective system with such a solid business model in such a profitable industry that the only way to really lose, is to quit.  Since we were little kids, we’ve always been told:  ‘Winners never quit, and quitters never win.’  Why?  Because… it’s true.  The secret is in knowing who determines whether you win or quit.  That ‘who’ is YOU!

 

"Success is never permanent, and failure is never final."

 

That's a very insightful statement for Ditka.  Going a step further, Orrin Woodward and the TEAM have demonstrated that your character determines how you handle both:  success and failure.  In a way, success IS failure… as long as you are learning from it.  Every day has opportunities to learn as long as you recognize and seize those chances when they are before you.  So, what did you learn today?  Are you putting yourself in a position to fail enough to succeed?  Do you have the character to see it through?  Success is merely a failure away. 

 

I was speaking to Orrin Woodward yesterday and noticed his voice was almost gone.  I asked him what had happened and he said he has been taking his son to wrestling practice and just really gets into it.  I remember Orrin telling his son, "as long as you do your personal best, you are a winner, no matter what the score."  Orrin believes everyone will win in life and in this business if they continue to do their personal best each and every day.  Thanks for all the encouragement Orrin!

Orrin Woodward of the TEAM reminds me a lot of a coach like Mike Ditka.

Mike leads by his code word ACE:  Attitude, Character and Enthusiasm. He has never been accused of lacking enthusiasm and has always given a passionate 110% to the game.  Orrin Woodward leads with unwavering character and heart.  Orrin loves his Team and wants each and every person on it to WIN.  He has created an arena where literally anyone with a dream and a commitment to achieve it can come in, pick up the play book, get in the game, and have their victory!  I'm proud to play my part on the TEAM.

"My code word for teamwork is ACE:  Attitude, Character and Enthusiasm."

 

This quote reminds me of Orrin and how we should make each day our masterpiece.

What I do today is important, because I am paying a day of my life for it.  What I accomplish must be worhtwhile, because the price is high.

Orrin Woodward did a meeting for our team last night and what an inspiration of hope for anybody that was there.  He said you can live 30 days without food, 3 days without water, 3 minutes without air, but you will not last one second without hope!   Orrin Woodward has developed a team business that allows people to dream again, and a way to attain those dreams if you are willing to learn and apply the knowledge.

He truly shows by example of only asking someone to do what he has already done and is willing to do himself.  Thanks, Orrin for helping so many people change their lives for the better. 

The mentorship of Orrin Woodward is combining a true friend with a great coach that has the knowledge how to win in business and in different aspects of your life.  Orrin not only cares if you succeed in your business, but that you succeed in the game of life.  He truly cares about people first and says you have to build a foundation of trust before you can ever help or mentor anyone.

Orrin has built a trust over the years with me and many others.  At first I was not going to trust anyone, and it took a long time of watching and waiting to really figure this guy Orrin out.  He said, "That people of integrity expect to be believed and when they are not, they let time prove them right."  Over time Orrin Woodward did everything he said he would do.  He never gave me false or misleading information, and was always there to help along the way.  He always accepted you where you were at, but encouraged you to do better and to grow and stretch yourself to become the best you can be. He never put his interests above mine. He truly wants and helps other people succeed.

Henry Ford said, "The people that know How, will always work for the people that know Why."

Orrin Woodward helps people figure out their Why and then shows them how to obtain their Why.
